He said that the FIR is based on the complaint of former Mayor Meenakshi Shinde.

In a letter to the Mumbai Police Commissioner, Raut had said, “Lok Sabha member Shrikant Shinde has given contract to kill me to Raja Thakur, a criminal from Thane.”
