As part of the ongoing agitation against the international port project, fishermen will protest with empty banana leaves in Vizhinjam on Thiruvonam Day on Thursday.
The Church-led Action Council said a ‘Nirahara Sadan’ would be organized to protest the authorities’ neglect towards the plight of the fishermen.
The fishermen were conducting a relay fast at the protest site outside the port gate. It said that the state government had betrayed the working class and spread a hue of desperation to celebrate Onam.
