Surat: City crime branch has arrested five people in connection with the murder of a person in broad daylight. Navsari Town.
the victim Martyr Alias Liaquat Ali Sayyed was stabbed to death by three men on a scooter while passing through the city’s Dargahwala Hall at around 9:15 am on September 15.
The crime branch entrusted with the investigation came to know that a person named Mohammad Sadiq alias Guddu alias Malbari of Surat had given a contract to three people to eliminate Sahid. Detectives got specific information that Malbari was standing near a water tank in the Mughalisara area of Surat and caught him.
After this the crime branch arrested Mohammad Alfaz alias Pappu alias jack (25), Ghulam Dastagir Allahbakshi sheikh (25), Asad alias Altmas (20), all residents of different areas of Surat and Zafarshah Sadruddin Dargahwala (68) Navsari resident.
Malbari sent Jack, Altmas and Shaikh to Navsari to carry out the murder on his scooter. He had promised them 50-50 thousand rupees for the crime. They tracked the activities of the victim before stabbing her to death.
Police have recovered two lakh rupees in cash from them.
A crime branch official said, “During interrogation, Malbari told the police that he had a long-standing dispute over property with Zafarbhai Dargahwala of Navsari. The deceased Shahid is his relative, so he was targeted.”
Cases of attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy, liquor prohibition and diamond robbery are registered against Malbari in Navsari and Mahidhara police stations.
Jack was earlier booked at Chowk Bazar police station and Navsar in the city for attempt to murder and other offences.
