A flight attendant for an airline operating in Turkey was shocked to find the head of a severed snake in her meal.

The incident reportedly took place on July 21 on a SunExpress flight from Ankara in Turkey to Düsseldorf in Germany.

A member of the cabin staff told that when they were having their crew lunch, they found the head of a small snake hidden among potatoes and vegetables, according to the Independent, which cited aviation blog One Mile at a Time was.

A video posted on Twitter shows the reptile’s head in the middle of a food tray.

The airline’s agreement with the suspected food supplier has since been suspended and an investigation has also been launched. The airline told the Independent that it was “our top priority” to ensure that the services we provide to our guests on our aircraft are of the highest efficiencies and that both our guests and staff have a comfortable and safe flying experience.

However, the catering company that supplies the food has vehemently denied that it may have originated from their facilities.
