Foods to eat for glowing skin all year round

Maintaining glowing skin doesn’t come from a bottle. Truth be told, it starts from within. Our skin reflects our food choices. A nourished body is the perfect answer to glowing skin.

Whether it’s treating acne, fighting premature aging, or reducing the appearance of wrinkles, the right diet can be an asset. Certain healthy foods can provide your body with the proper mechanisms to strengthen and build healthy tissues.
So, what should you be eating to get that glowing skin that you want?

We are what we eat- keeping in mind the health of the skin, certain nutrients must be included in our diet to maintain healthy, glowing and supple skin.

Include foods rich in vitamin C such as berries, guavas, kiwis, oranges, broccoli and capsicum to increase the production of collagen.

“Vitamin A-rich foods like carrots, pumpkin, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes to prevent wrinkles and breakouts,” says Aman Purie, nutritionist and founder, Steadfast Nutrition

Vitamin E from almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and others to improve cellular functioning of the skin

Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids such as fatty fish, walnuts, avocados, olives and flaxseed should be consumed.

“Avoiding inflammatory foods like gluten, dairy and processed foods can help you achieve clearer skin, especially if you are intolerant to them,” says functional nutritionist, Mugdha Pradhan, CEO and founder, iThrive. Drink plenty of water and include fruits in your diet for clear, glowing skin. Also, add vitamin C to your diet by taking lemonade or coconut water every day.
