For burial in Jerusalem as coffin heads of protester vs police journalist

Palestinian mourners carry the coffin of Al-Jazeera journalist Shirin Abu Akle out of an Israeli hospital

Jerusalem:

Violence erupted at a Jerusalem hospital on Friday, according to AFP correspondents and TV images, when a coffin containing the body of a dead journalist emerged before burial, with Israeli police trying to disperse Palestinian mourners.

Images broadcast on Palestine TV showed the coffin of Al Jazeera reporter Shirin Abu Aqleh almost falling to the ground as police grabbed flags from the crowd surrounding the procession.

An AFP reporter separately watched as Israeli forces entered the grounds of St. Joseph’s Hospital in East Jerusalem, linked to Israel. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli police on the incident.
