Force Gurkha BS6 Launch Date: Force Gurkha BS6 introduced, ready to challenge Mahindra Thar | – times of India

NEW DELHI: After months of anticipating, Force Motors on Wednesday unveiled a BS6-compliant, production-ready Gurkha.
The off-roader is ready to challenge Mahindra Thar. The company will launch on September 27, reveal the prices and start bookings.
NS Force Gurkha Powered by a 2.6-litre, Mercedes-derived Common Rail engine that pumps out 90 horsepower and 250 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Thar, on the other hand, is available with the option of automatic and manual transmission in both diesel and petrol engines.

The Gurkha, called 4x4x4, comes with a gradability of 35 degrees to take extreme gradients. The Force Gurkha comes with 4×4 high and 4×4 low levers conveniently located in the central console. It is the only vehicle in its class to have mechanically actuated differential locks on both the axles. The Force also claims best in class safety for the passengers and vehicle safety with full metal body structure. (turning radius: 5.65 m)

The Gurkha is suspended on all four wheels due to multi-link coil suspension. The snorkel enables the Gurkha to be submerged in 700 mm of water and ensures adequate supply of fresh air for combustion. Mahindra has claimed 650 mm of water wading for the Thar.
The interior of the Gurkha has also been revised. Front-facing rear captain seats with touchscreen infotainment. The steering wheel is adjustable for tilt and telescopic movement.

Force LED Pro Edge headlamps with full LED high beam and low beam features in the new Gurkha. In terms of safety, the Gurkha comes with dual airbags, tire pressure monitoring system and cornering lamps.
