Ford flattens India EV production plans: Report – Times of India

New Delhi: American car maker Wade Motor Co has given up on its plans to build electric vehicles (EVS) will push sales of its factories in India and possibly in India for global markets, The Economic Times reported on Thursday.
The report, citing people familiar with the matter, said that while talks with Tata Motors for the sale of the Sanand plant in Gujarat were going well, Ford was pursuing several suitors for its Chennai factory.
Earlier this year, the company said it was looking at producing electric vehicles for export in India and possibly for sale in the domestic market.
Ford did not respond to a Reuters request for comment outside business hours.
