Ford India recalls BS6 diesel Figo, Aspire, Freestyle, EcoSport: Here’s why – Times of India

Payab It may have ceased its operations in India, but the company continues to provide warranty support and services across the country. The brand has now issued a recall for the BS6 diesel model Figo, to aspirefreestyle and ecosport On issues of compliance with emission norms.
The firm has found emission norms and efficiency issues in the BS6 diesel model and cited the recall as the reason. In addition, it also mentions ‘issues related to oil life’ which need corrective measures.
If the vehicle is found to be affected, it will be updated with a new exhaust gas O2 sensor and a new catalytic converter. All recalled models will be updated to the latest firmware for the Electronic Control Unit (ECU).
The vehicle owners will be contacted by the manufacturer through call or mail and this upgrade will be free of cost. Buyers can check whether their car has been affected or not through the VIN number of their vehicle.
Ford FigoThe Aspire, Freestyle and EcoSport are powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 100hp power and 215Nm of torque.
Recently, the company Last Made in India EcoSport from the Maraimalai Nagar manufacturing plant, hence ended manufacturing their cars in the country. Ford said that it will now focus on bringing the CBU units to India, though there is no official word on the same yet.
