Former Aluva MLA K. Muhamdali (76) died in Kochi on 20 September. He was undergoing treatment for kidney related ailments.

He was one of the longest-serving MLAs of the district, representing Aluva constituency in the state assembly for six consecutive terms since 1980.

At the organizational level, he had served as a member of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee and the All India Congress Committee.

The veteran Congress leader had made his mark with the ‘A’ faction in the party. In the last few years, Muhamdali had distanced himself from the party. He will be laid to rest later.
