Former cricketer lost his PAN card, got help from Income Tax Department on Twitter

Former England captain Kevin Pietersen on Tuesday requested India’s help after he lost his Permanent Account Number (PAN) card ahead of his scheduled visit to India.

Pietersen tweeted on Tuesday, “India please help, I have lost my PAN card and am traveling mon but need physical card for work. Can anyone please refer me to someone from whom? Can I contact you for help?”

Pietersen also tweeted for help in Hindi. Both his posts went viral after users suggested various solutions for their PAN problem.

The official social media handle of the Income Tax Department also reacted to Pietersen’s tweet. “Dear @KP24, we are here to help you. If you have your PAN details, please visit these links for the procedure to apply for reprint of original PAN card.”

Accepting the tweet from the official handle, Pietersen wrote, “Fantastic. Thanks! I have emailed you. I have also followed you so that someone can DM me so I can talk to you.”

The former England captain has more than 38 lakh followers on Twitter.
