Former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal admitted to hospital in Mohali

Shiromani Akali Dal patron Parkash Singh Badal has been admitted to a private hospital in Mohali after he complained of breathlessness.

Hospital sources said Mr Badal, 95, is under close observation of doctors.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted, “Worried to know that veteran leader Shri Parkash Singh Badal ji is unwell and hospitalised. Had a telephonic discussion with Shri Sukhbir Singh Badal ji about his health. I pray to God Praying for his speedy recovery.” ,

Mr. Badal was admitted to the hospital on Sunday.

In June last year, Mr. Badal, a five-time Chief Minister of Punjab, was admitted to the hospital after complaining of gastritis and bronchial asthma.

In February 2022, he was taken to a private hospital in Mohali for a post-Covid health check-up, during which he also underwent heart and lung tests.

In January 2022, he was admitted to a hospital in Ludhiana after testing positive for COVID-19.

The Akali Dal patron was advised by doctors to opt for regular preventive check-ups, especially after being infected with COVID-19.
