French football chief Noel Le Graet under investigation for ‘sexist outrage’

Earlier on Saturday, Le Graet said in a statement to AFP that he was shocked by the leak to the media.

“I recently read an article in Le Monde reporting leaks in the provisional audit report being prepared,” he said in a statement.

Adding further he said, “”At this stage I neither know the facts in which I am accused nor the people who are behind it. More generally, I am surprised that the information can be disclosed even though the interim report has not yet been sent to me and I am not able to furnish my comments.”

According to French law, “sexist outrage” refers to a statement or behavior with a sexual or sexist connotation that lowers a person’s dignity or exposes him to a distressing situation.

If convicted, Le Graet can be punished with a fine of up to 750 euros.
