Turkey earthquake: Nearly two weeks after a deadly earthquake struck the border areas of Turkey and Syria, the region was hit by another 6.3 magnitude tremor on Monday.

Turkey’s disaster management agency, AFAD, said the 6.4-magnitude earthquake was centered around the town of Defne in Hatay province. NTV television said the quake caused some damaged buildings to collapse, but there were no immediate reports of casualties.

Turkey’s state-run Anadolu agency said the quake was felt in Syria, Jordan, Israel and Egypt.

Significantly, the latest tremors came after a powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake on February 6, which resulted in the death of more than 45,000 people in Turkey and Syria.
