From CBSE to UP Board: Will 10th, 12th board exams 2023 be on full syllabus?

The board exams for class 10 and class 12 will begin in February. The academic session of board exam 2023 has started. Two years after the Covid-19-led pandemic, this year the classes are being conducted in offline mode. With the reopening of schools, the curriculum will also be changed. Many boards are returning to 100% syllabus after offering cut in syllabus. Let’s take a look at what the next academic year looks like:

CBSE: central board of secondary education (CBSE) will conduct class 10 and class 12 board exams from February 15, 2023. It will not be divided into two posts but just one final exam. The board has also changed the syllabus. After conducting 10th and 12th exams on lesser syllabus for almost two years, CBSE Will go back to the ‘rational’ course. The board will once again rationalize the syllabus with the help of experts.

CISCE: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has also withdrawn its earlier decision on the two board exam formats. ICSE and ISC board exam 2023 will be conducted once in the year. “It has been decided by the CISCE to conduct only one examination at the end of the academic year 2023 at both the ICSE and ISC levels. CISCE proposes to hold the said examinations tentatively in February/March 2023,” reads the official notice. The exact syllabus details have not been released yet.

Uttar Pradesh: Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (UPMSP) will conduct the board exams in a new format from the current academic year. The final exam for the upcoming year will be conducted in offline mode in March. Before the finals, schools have been asked to conduct pre-boards in January and half yearly exams based on the syllabus to be taught till September. The pre-boards for class 10 and 12 will be conducted from February 1 to February 15. Based on the results of the half-yearly and pre-board examinations, schools assess the performance of the students and provide additional classes to ensure focused preparation for the final board examinations. UPMSP said. The exact course details are not out yet. However this year the exam pattern will be different. The question papers will be divided into two parts – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Subjective Questions.

West Bengal: West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) will conduct the HS or Class 12 examination from March 14 to March 27. The board has further announced that unlike last year, in 2023, the exam will be conducted on the basis of complete syllabus. WBCHSE President Chiranjeeb Bhattacharya said, “In 2023, the HS exam will be conducted between March 14 and 27. The exams will be conducted on the complete syllabus and they will be conducted at external exam centers and not at home venues which were similar this year. The board exams for class 10 or secondary are yet to be announced.

Gujarat: Gujarat Board has released the academic calendar for 2023, which states that the 10th, 12th examinations will be held from March 14 to 31. GSHSEB has said that the exams will be conducted on full syllabus unlike last year, when the syllabus was reduced from 30 to 35. Percent. The board has not yet released the datesheet for the exam, which will probably be done a few days before the commencement of the exam.

Meanwhile, the Bihar Board has started the registration for the matriculation exam but the syllabus has not been announced yet. Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh are also yet to announce the syllabus and board exam pattern for the next academic year. It is likely that it will be announced soon.
