Whatever the season, exercise is very important to stay healthy and fit. While in winters, doing physical activities doesn’t seem like much of a hassle due to the good weather, summers certainly serve as a challenge. Due to the scorching heat in the summer season, many nutrients are lost in our body, due to which our body can become weak. Also, working out during summers is a tough task as we feel more exhausted than in any other season due to excessive sweating.

So, if you are going to the gym in summers, then you should keep a few things in mind to keep your body energetic and fit.

1. Choose the Right Clothes

Clothing plays an important role in exercising. One should choose clothes that are comfortable, ventilated and give enough space for the sweat to drain properly. Try wearing loose clothing and light clothing to feel cool and composed during workout sessions.

2. Stay Hydrated

Due to excessive sweating during summer, the excess moisture from the body is lost. In such a situation, you feel tired for a long time. To maintain the water level, it is important to have drinking water or healthy drinks during the workout. However, try to choose drinks that are lighter such as watermelon juice and lemonade. Avoid consuming too many protein shakes, instead drink coconut water as it balances electrolytes.

3.Short Time

It is always better to reduce your workout time in summers. If you usually exercise for an hour, try to reduce it to 15 to 30 minutes. This is because our body is not able to take much stress in increasing temperature. Therefore, it would be better if you pay attention to your diet and cut down on gym timings.

4. Always Start With a Warm-up

In terms of saving time and energy, if you skip the warm-up session, you are on the wrong track. Warm-up is essential to keep the heart healthy. When you suddenly start doing intense exercise, it puts pressure on your heart because the body temperature suddenly rises. Therefore, it is always advisable to warm up the body first and then do regular workouts.
