Ola Electric’s S1 Pro was once again under scrutiny for several incidents of suspension failure recently. Several customers reported that the front fork of the electric scooter would break when hit. With these incidents adding to the number of problems Ola scooters are facing, the company has now issued a statement on the same. Ola Electric stated that the suspension failure incidents were due to “high-impact accidents” and were isolated in nature. The two-wheeler maker reiterated that vehicle safety and quality standards are of paramount importance.

Ola’s statement read, “Vehicle safety and quality standards are of paramount importance at Ola. Ola has over 50,000 scooters on the road today. So far, our scooters have traveled 45 million cumulative km on Indian roads. Recently There have been incidents reported in the fork breakage separately due to high impact accidents. All of our scooters undergo rigorous quality and performance evaluations in various terrains and riding conditions in India.”

Incidents of suspension failure were highlighted by owners who took to Twitter to report their problems. The first incident was reported by Srinad Menon, who shared a picture of a broken front fork. Another user shared his experience of breaking the front fork after the scooter hit a wall at a speed of 25 kmph. Other users also shared pictures of a broken front suspension. carandbike cannot confirm when, where and how these incidents happened.

However, suspension failure is one of the many reasons that have kept the Ola S1 Pro in the news in recent times. S1 Pro owners have previously complained about software glitches, plastic quality issues, inconsistent range, breakdowns, and more. However the more infamous issue has been the incidents of fire.
