Fuel price today: Diesel crosses Rs 100 per liter in Hyderabad

Among metros, Mumbai now has the highest price of petrol at Rs 109.25 per liter, followed by Hyderabad at Rs 107.41.

Diesel price in Hyderabad crossed Rs 100 per liter on Thursday.

Oil companies on Thursday increased the prices of petrol and diesel by 32 paise and 38 paise respectively. With the latest hike, the price of petrol in the city has gone up to Rs 107.41 per liter and that of diesel to Rs 100.13 per litre.

On June 14, the price of petrol had crossed Rs 100. Since then, the price of petrol has increased by around Rs 8 per liter, while that of diesel has gone up by around Rs 5.

The price of premium petrol, a fuel with additives sold under different names by different petroleum companies, had already crossed Rs 100.

Fuel prices have been increasing since May 4, and the cumulative increase has increased petrol prices by over Rs 13 and diesel by over Rs 11.

Oil companies have attributed the rise in oil prices in the international market. Among metros, Mumbai now has the highest price of petrol at Rs 109.25 per liter, followed by Hyderabad at Rs 107.41.

Prices vary from state to state due to different rates of Value Added Tax (VAT) and transportation charges to and from the nearest refinery.
