State-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) on Sunday hiked fuel prices for the fourth consecutive day. With the latest price, petrol and diesel prices have touched new all-time highs across the country. Petrol price in Delhi is ₹ 102.39 per liter, which has increased by 25 paise, while diesel rates have increased by 30 paise, from ₹ 90.77 per liter at present. At the same time, petrol in Mumbai has reached an all-time high of Rs 108.43 per liter, while the price of diesel has reached Rs 98.48 per liter, with an increase of 24 paise and 32 paise respectively.

Petrol and diesel prices in Delhi have been increased by 25 paise and 30 paise respectively.

Here are the petrol and diesel prices in five major metros as on October 3, 2021:

As for other metro cities, petrol prices in Kolkata have gone up by 30 paise to Rs 103.07 per liter today, while diesel prices have gone up by 30 paise to Rs 93.87 per litre. On the other hand, petrol prices in Chennai were increased by 21 paise to reach Rs 100.01 per liter, while diesel prices rose by 29 paise to Rs 95.31 per litre. Petrol price increased by 26 paise to Rs 105.95 per liter in Bengaluru, while diesel increased by 32 paise to Rs 96.34 per litre.

Fuel prices vary from state to state, depending on the VAT levied by the state government.

Fuel rates are most expensive in Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar district, where petrol is currently ₹114.34 per liter, while diesel is ₹104.64 per litre. Petrol prices in Rewa and Anuppur districts of Madhya Pradesh have touched ₹113.30 per liter and ₹113.70 per liter, while diesel prices have touched ₹101.97 per liter and ₹102.34 per liter respectively. Customers in Parbhani district of Maharashtra will now have to pay ₹ 110.99 per liter and ₹ 99.44 per liter respectively for petrol and diesel.
