Kumar said Majid was wanted in five cases, including attempt to murder, from Azamgarh and Jaunpur districts of the state.

The STF said that Majid along with his aide Nadeem had shot dead Tariq in Azamgarh in 2013 and robbed his bike. Since then he has been involved in running a ransom racket.
