Ganesh Chaturthi 2022: Make Maharashtra’s special Satori (Rava Laddus) with this easy recipe

In Ganesh Chaturthi festival, devotees prepare various sweets and snacks to celebrate Lord Ganesha on his birth anniversary. The festival falls on 31st August this year and we see that preparations are already underway in many homes. With abundant options, one can choose to make one or several indulgent dishes. While modaks are a popular choice across India, satori is usually prepared in Maharashtra to be offered to Lord Ganesha and family and friends. Satori also called Sanjori, Shirachi Poli and Rava Ladoo, Satori can be prepared in different ways, but the essence remains the same.

Satori is a stuffed laddu or puri made from semolina and milk and sweetened with sugar or jaggery. You can also add dry fruits and poppy seeds to enhance the taste. Some people make chapati (bread) while some deep fry it to make stuffing. Complete, Satori is basically a roasted sooji ladoo that is stuffed inside a semolina roll.

Here we are making fried satori made of semolina, milk and sugar. Cardamom powder is added for its tangy taste and the raisins add crunch and more sweetness, A little flour is also added to make the dough for semolina puri, which helps in making the poori crispy. This satori recipe is very easy and takes hardly any time.

How to make Rava Ladoo Recipe for Ganesh Chaturthi Satori

First of all, knead the dough with semolina, all purpose flour and some milk. Roll it into rotis. Roast semolina in ghee, mix sugar, cardamom, milk and raisins and prepare rava ladoos filled with it. To make poori, roll it again and fry till it becomes golden.
