Gang giving fake holiday packages busted in Haryana, 4 arrested: Police

The Faridabad police on Friday busted an inter-state gang and arrested four of its members for duping people on the pretext of providing fake holiday packages posing as bank employees.

Police said the accused duped over 55 people in different states. He said Rs 35,000 in cash, a POS machine, computer, printer, 17 mobile phones and 18 SIM cards purchased with fake IDs were recovered from them, he said.

The arrested accused have been identified as Uttam Singh, who was originally from Bihar. Tushars of Rajasthan; Mohd Mubeen and Maz Mohammad, natives of Uttar Pradesh.

The police also sealed four of his fake bank accounts, from which transactions worth Rs 65 lakh were made in the last six months. The accused disclosed that they duped 55 people including 17 from Delhi-NCR, 15 in Uttar Pradesh, nine in Telangana, five in Haryana, three in Maharashtra and two in Gujarat.

Faridabad Senior Police Officer (Crime) Surendra Sheoran said, “The accused targeted the credit card holders after purchasing data from Just Dial.

The accused used to persuade potential targets to buy holiday packages using credit cards and siphoned off their balances after proceeding with the transaction.

Surendra Sheoran said, “We are interrogating the accused.”
