A 26-year-old techie was gang-raped by 10 men at work from home in Jharkhand

Jharkhand:

A 26-year-old software engineer was allegedly gang-raped by around 10 people in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district.

The woman, who is in Jharkhand as she is working from home, was out on a motorcycle with her boyfriend on Thursday evening when the incident took place.

Police told the Press Trust of India that a group of eight-ten men stopped the couple, beat up the lover and took the woman to a secluded area and allegedly gang-raped her.

Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar said a case has been registered at the local police station and investigation is on to identify the people behind the incident.

Police said that the woman works in a reputed IT company.

After the rape, the accused fled away leaving her there. They also snatched her purse and mobile phone.

The woman somehow reached home and told her family about the incident after which they lodged a police complaint.

His medical checkup was done at the local hospital.
