As Mirzapur meets Mansa, gangs from Punjab have now hogged national and international headlines, perhaps the biggest blow of high profile gangland murders similar to the Bombay underworld attacks many years ago. According to media reports, now the angle of terrorists is coming to the fore in the murder of Punjabi singing superstar Sidhu Musewala. Sidhu Musewala is said to have been shot dead by gangsters on May 29 in a horrific daylight murder in Jawaharke village. Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar of Lawrence Bishnoi gang had claimed responsibility for the murder.

According to reports, it is also being revealed that Lawrence Bishnoi had carried out the murder in collaboration with Babbar Khalsa’s Khalistani terrorist Harinder Singh Rinda. It is suspected that Sidhu Musewala was murdered by a coalition of gangsters and terrorists, True Scoop reported. The SIT constituted by Punjab DGP VK Bhavra has also been asked to look into this aspect of the alliance of terrorists and gangsters. According to sources, the militants of Babbar Khalsa may have helped the gangsters in providing weapons to be used for carrying out anti-social activities. Babbar Khalsa is already trying to terrorize Punjab for a long time. Recent incidents in the state, terrorist activities and arms smuggling are being done because they want to terrorize the people of Punjab. The report said that terrorists, smugglers and gangsters are working together to create an atmosphere of terror.

Harinder Singh Rinda is considered a prominent figure of Babbar Khalsa and soon a new face of terrorism has emerged. He was also named in the recent attack on Mohali Intelligence Headquarters. Rinda was an old gangster who later turned into a terrorist. His name has already been associated with many terrorists and gangsters. When it comes to the alliance of these gangsters and terrorists, it was first revealed in November 2016 when terrorists and gangsters escaped from Nabha Jail, True Scoop reported. When it comes to weapons, nowadays gangsters have weapons with latest technology which are not easily available. It is noteworthy that terrorists are giving these weapons to these gangsters. The gangster also used latest technology Russian weapon AN-94 in the murder of Sidhu Musewala. The report said that it has been revealed that Moosewala was being closely monitored by terrorists and gangsters for several months.

According to central agencies, the consignment of weapons has reached Punjab to such an extent that it is not easy for the police to deal with them. Terrorists and gangsters are currently using AN-94, assault rifle, C-30 pistol, Beretta pistol, GLOCK 17 and rocket propelled grenade weapons. Punjab Police also has some modern weapons but not enough to provide to every police officer. Punjab Police has AK-47, 303, ALR and LMG besides American made Roger 38 bore. However, the force has 1.25 lakh weapons at 82,000 count which has not changed much, TrueScoop reported. Gang wars have been increasing in Punjab for the last few months. Their numbers increased and extortion and robbery accelerated, creating fear in the hearts of the residents. After the murder of Kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal Ambiya Punjabi, singer Mankirat Aulakh received death threats, as previously reported by True Scoop.

The following gangs are currently active in Punjab:

1. Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Gang

Jasdeep Singh aka Gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria is a well-known name of Punjab. He is a youth icon for many sports players and kabaddi lovers. He is also known as ‘Supari King’ in Punjab. Jaggu is mostly famous for his criminal activities in Majha area of ​​Punjab. True Scoop reported that Jaggu and his gang were the prime accused in the murder of a sarpanch’s son in Dhyanpur village on the night of Diwali.

2. Lawrence Bishnoi Group

He is a well-known criminal of Punjab and leader of the student organization Panjab University (SOPU). He has been jailed several times and has more than 25 cases registered against him in Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana under attempt to murder, extortion, snatching, carjacking and under the Arms Act.

3. Jaipal Bhullar Gang

Punjab’s most wanted gangster Jaipal Bhullar and his close aide Jassi Kharar were killed in a joint operation by Punjab Police, West Bengal Police and central security agencies during an encounter at Shahpurji Enclave in Kolkata in June 2021. His name is in the headlines again. A close aide of Jaipal Bhullar was arrested by Mohali police from Kharar in April this year.

4. Bambiha Group

Davinder Bambiha was one of the most dangerous gangsters of Punjab. Davinder Bambiha was confronted by the Punjab Police in 2016 for his criminal activities. His group is still active in Punjab. Recently, the Davinder Bambiha group has claimed responsibility for threatening Punjabi singer Mankirat Aulakh in their Facebook post, True Scoop reported.

Gangs of Punjab is known to target Punjabi singers and Kabaddi players. Punjabi music industry has become the number one music industry in India. Singers get name and fame easily. It is easy for gangsters to target them for extortion. True Scoop reported that singers like Mankirat Aulakh and Parmish Verma have received death threats. The music industry promotes guns and violence through their songs, and gangsters make Punjabi singers their easy targets. There is a trend of youth towards these professions. The report states that they target kabaddi players and singers to create an image among the youth.
