GATE 2023 registration to begin from August 30: Check important dates here – Times of India

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2023 registration process will start from August 30, 2022. As per the details available on the official website -gate.iitk.ac.in, the GATE 2023 exam will be conducted by the Indian Institute. Technology (IIT) Kanpur. GATE 2023 exam will be held on 04, 05 and 11, 12 February 2023. Candidates can check more details related to GATE 2023 on the official website.

GATE 2023 will be conducted for 29 papers. Candidates can visit the GATE 2023 exam portal to view/download the list of papers along with the code and exam syllabus for each paper. A candidate is allowed to appear in one or two papers of GATE 2023 exam. However, a candidate is allowed to select another paper only from the pre-decided two paper combination list.
Each GATE 2023 paper is for a total of 100 marks, General Aptitude (GA) is common to all papers (15 marks) and the rest of the paper covers the respective course (85 marks).

marking scheme The questions are of 1 mark and 2 marks
negative marking For the wrong answer chosen in the MCQs, there will be negative marking.

For 1-mark MCQs, 1/3 mark will be deducted for wrong answer.

Similarly, for 2-marks MCQs, 2/3 marks will be deducted for wrong answers.

No negative marking for wrong answer to MSQ or NAT question.

About Gate 2023
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national level exam that primarily tests a comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science / Commerce / Arts. GATE 2023 will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) which is being conducted by Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. The exam will be conducted by IISc Bangalore and seven IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee) on behalf of National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. Department of Education (MOE), Government of India (Government of India).
Qualified GATE scores can be used to obtain admission and/or financial aid:
Master’s program and direct doctoral program in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science / Commerce / Arts.
Doctoral programs in related branches of arts and sciences in institutions supported by MOE and other government agencies.
GATE score is also used by some colleges and institutes to admit students without MOE scholarship/aid.
Many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have been using GATE score in their recruitment process.
