BJP MP and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir extended his support to him on Sunday. Suspended party leader Nupur Sharma Against the threats made to her after her humiliation Remarks against Prophet Muhammadand hit out at “secular liberals” for their “silence”.
“The silence of the so called ‘secular liberals’ on the despicable display of hatred and death threats across the country against the apologetic woman is certainly deaf,” he tweeted.

Ms Sharma’s remarks in a TV debate last month were condemned by several Islamic countries and protested by Muslims in various parts of India.
The BJP had suspended him in its effort to quell the controversy, though some extremists had threatened to kill him. AIMIM MP Imtiaz Jaleel had recently demanded that he be hanged.
