Gems, jewelery exports up 30% in September

Shipments for April-September grew by 134.55% to ₹1,40,412.94 crore as compared to the same period in 2020.

According to the Gems and Jewelery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), gems and jewelery exports grew by 29.67% to Rs 23,259.55 crore in September from Rs 17,936.86 crore in the same month a year ago.

In September 2019, the shipment was valued at ₹23,491.20 crore.

GJEPC said that for April-September, shipments grew by 134.55% to ₹1,40,412.94 crore as compared to the same period in 2020. “With exports of 140,412.94 crore ($18.98 billion) [in] In April-September, the sector has achieved almost half (46%) of the $41.66 billion export target set by the government for the sector,” said Chairman Colin Shah.
