A German woman was sentenced to six months in prison after being convicted of sexual assault for secretly piercing her partner’s condom. The Daily Mail reported that the woman broke her partner’s condom without her knowledge so that she could become pregnant.

Judge Astrid Salewski, who delivered the verdict in Bielefeld’s regional court, said legal history was written when the woman was accused of ‘theft’. ‘Stealthing’ usually involves the man removing or sabotaging his condom during intercourse without the woman’s knowledge.

What is the matter?

The case involved a 39-year-old woman who was allegedly in an informal relationship with a 42-year-old man. The two met in 2021 and used to meet regularly. The court said that the woman wants to change the nature of her relationship by becoming pregnant. However, she was unsuccessful in her attempt to get pregnant.

However, the woman gave false information to her partner that she was pregnant by sabotaging the condom without her knowledge. The man responded by filing criminal charges against him.

The woman was initially accused of rape but later turned into sexual assault.

Judge Salewski told the court that the theft provision also applied in the reverse case, where it was the woman who committed the act. “The condom was rendered unusable without the man’s knowledge or consent. No means not here either,” she said.
