“Now I will be eligible to get promotion in 2022 as I have already completed seven years in service. Otherwise, I would have been eligible for promotion in 2028,” Panda said.
Due to this decision of the government, people like Soumya Ranjan Samal working as Junior Assistant in Water Resources Department have also benefited from getting better salary package. “I joined the service in 2018 with a monthly consolidated amount of Rs 16,200. Since my service has become regular now, I will now get around Rs 32,000 including DA and HRA.
The state government on Sunday issued an official notification to regularize the services of contractual employees, a day after the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced in this regard. Hundreds of contract employees celebrated at the heads of departmental offices here.
According to the notification issued by the General Administration Department, after regularization of service, the salary of such employees will be fixed by paying a notional increment (to be decided later) keeping in view the date of their contractual appointment.
Those who have already been regularized after completing six years of contractual service will also get notional increment taking into account the date of their contractual appointment.
Such employees will also get service benefits such as promotion and seniority in the cadre, which they would have been entitled to be recruited as regular employees.
