Ghaziabad: A Delhi-based woman who had alleged ‘concocted’ gang rape in an attempt to grab property has been arrested, police informed on Saturday. The woman has been arrested by the Delhi team of Ghaziabad Police.

The woman was admitted to Delhi’s GTB Hospital, Ghaziabad City SP Nipun Aggarwal informed some time ago.

He was arrested a day after the police registered a case against him and his three accomplices on charges of cheating and forgery.

The Delhi woman had claimed that she was abducted and raped by five men for two days.

Ghaziabad Superintendent of Police (City-1) Nipun Agarwal said, “The woman was arrested by our police team. She was produced before a magistrate to record her statement. The court sent her to 14-day judicial custody. Have given.”

His accomplices Azad, Afzal and Gaurav were arrested earlier.

On Friday, the police had said that a case has been registered against the women Azad, Afzal and Gaurav under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) related to forgery, forgery and forgery of genuine documents.

He was charged under IPC sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery with intent to defraud) and 471 (fraudulently using as genuine document, which the person knows or has reason to do). Believed to be fake), Circle Officer, City-2, Ghaziabad, Alok Dubey had said.

Delhi Commission for Women chairperson Swati Maliwal said on Wednesday that a 36-year-old woman was found wrapped in a jute bag, her arms and legs were tied and an iron rod was inserted in her private parts.

However, during a press conference on Thursday, the Ghaziabad police dismissed the woman’s claim that she was raped and brutalized by five men, saying that a “small” property dispute was “concocted”. A conspiracy was hatched. Four of the five were arrested.

During the conference, when asked whether clean chit would be given to the four persons, Inspector General (IG), Meerut, Praveen Kumar had said, “We have not found any evidence against them… Prima facie, in this case, No such incident has happened. Hence, there is no question of getting evidence.”

The National Commission for Women (NCW) had on Friday said that contradictory statements were made by the woman and her family members.

On the woman’s claim that she was abducted, IG Kumar said, “No.

He said that the chats analyzed by the police also revealed that money was also paid to the individuals to publicize the matter.

Kumar had also said that during investigation it was found that Azad’s phone was switched off when the woman had allegedly gone missing. On the property dispute, he said the dispute was over a ‘small’ property.

The NCW had said that the police said the incident was planned to implicate five people, who were the initial suspects, who had a property dispute with the woman.

“The evidence also shows that Rs 5,000 was also paid for sensationalizing the matter in the media.”

The property dispute is pending in Delhi’s Karkardooma District Court.

An NCW official had said that the present three suspects (Azad, Afzal and Gaurav) and the woman had planned to level gang rape charges against the five men.

IG Kumar had also said that “a woman named Samina had given property to Azad in 2021, who in turn gave her power of attorney to a person named Deepak Joshi”.

The officer had said, ‘There was talk of giving this property to the woman of Delhi. The matter in this regard was going on in the court.

GTB hospital officials had said on Wednesday that the woman’s condition was stable and no internal injuries were found.

The NCW official had said that “the hospital told us that in the preliminary medical examination no semen was found in the victim’s body.”

The officer had said that the police have also told the commission that the Delhi woman’s claim that she was raped and vandalized by five men is “false”.
