West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday dropped Ghulam Rabbani from the post of Minority Affairs Minister during the state cabinet meeting.

CM Banerjee will look after the department, and the minister concerned has been transferred to the Horticulture Department of West Bengal. According to sources, the Chief Minister has taken this decision. Defeat in Sagardighi assembly by-election

Congress leader Byron Biswas has won the by-election for the Sagardighi assembly seat in West Bengal. The bypolls were held last month. The bypoll to the Sagardighi assembly seat was necessitated after the death of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Subrata Saha in December 2022.

Besides this, CM Banerjee announced a two-day strike on March 29 and 30 over the “discrimination of the Center against the state” in allotting social welfare funds. Protest will be held in front of BR Ambedkar’s statue in Kolkata.
