K Selvam, a 59-year-old man, sustained a bleeding injury on the hand of a minor girl at Kandai near Thirumangalam on Sunday.
Police said Selvam had an enmity with C. Muniyandi (36) due to rivalry during the election.
When Muniyadi’s daughters, Ramya and Keertan were standing in front of his house, Selvam attacked Ramya, inflicting injuries on her left hand.
Sindhupatti Police has arrested the accused.

Meanwhile, in another case, Melur police have registered a case against two persons for sexually abusing a boy and videographing the incident.
Police said K.K. of Kottagudi. Ayyanar had misbehaved with a 5-year-old boy and T. Munisamy of the same village videographed it from a mobile phone.
Based on the complaint of the victim’s father, Melur police registered a case against the absconding accused under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act and the Information Technology Act.
