Telangana Congress President A. Revanth Reddy said that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has cheated the people of Korutla constituency by closing the Sugar Factor after coming to power, whereas he had promised to open it within 100 days of coming to power.

TPCC chief said that BRS MLC K. Local MLA Kalvakuntla Vidyasagar Rao along with Kavitha and KCR were responsible for its closure and it is time to teach them a lesson. He was speaking at a street corner meeting in Korutla along with MLC T. Jeevan Reddy and others as part of the Yatra for Change.

Mocking his commitment to Telangana, Mr. Reddy said that Vidyasagar Rao had sold his vote in the 2011 MLC elections to a leader from Andhra by defeating the TRS candidate. TRS had given party ticket to the same person twice. He said that the people of Kortula had taken revenge on KCR by defeating Kavitha in Nizamabad Lok Sabha and this time it should be the turn of Mr. Vidyasagar Rao.

Playing on the sentiment of Telangana, he appealed to the people to vote for the Congress this time as KCR was given two chances but could not fulfill any of the promises made to the people. After spending Rs 23 lakh crore through the budget and taking a loan of Rs 5 lakh crore in the last 9 years, KCR said, Telangana has nothing to show except loot of the state’s resources. He appealed to the people, ‘So give a chance to the Congress which gave Telangana.’

Mr Reddy appealed to Muslims to realize the dangerous side of KCR who promised 12% reservation but only distributed biryani during Ramzan as if he had never tasted biryani. He said AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi is also with the BRS which is in favor of the BJP. That’s why this time Muslims should vote wisely.

Congress MLC T. Jeevan Reddy said the BRS had betrayed every section, including Muslims, and recalled how Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had promised to increase 12% reservation to Muslims, but conveniently forgot it. He said that no one can stop the Congress from coming to power in Telangana.

He said the sugar factory in Jagitial district was closed by the KCR government to promote Gayatri Sugars in Kamareddy, which was causing losses to sugarcane farmers. Congress will ensure that the factory is reopened as soon as their party comes to power.
