General Motors Co. on Thursday joined a group of companies that will not send employees or top executives to next month’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas because of growing concerns about the Omicron version of the coronavirus.

The US automaker’s chief executive, Mary Barra, was due to deliver a keynote address at the annual convention on January 5, during which the company will show off its electric Silverado pickup truck for the first time. A spokesman said Barra would still give speeches and presentations on the Internet.
