It was a major setback for the Congress in Goa when 8 out of 11 party MLAs switched allegiance and joined the BJP in the presence of CM Pramod Sawant. Former Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and current LOP Michael Lobo are among the MLAs who have joined the saffron party. Goa Forward Party leader Vijay Sardesai reprimanded the eight MLAs, saying the MLAs have gone against all political propriety, basic decency and honesty.
