Goa: Speaker Ramesh Tavdkar withdraws notification for deputy speaker election. Goa News – Times of India

The post of deputy speaker is vacant since April after Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Desai resigned from the post.

Panaji: Speaker Ramesh Tawadkari Withdrawn the notification for the election of deputy speaker on Sunday. The election was to be held on Tuesday, for which nominations were to be filed before Monday afternoon.
After the Social Welfare Minister, the post of Deputy Speaker is vacant since April. Subhash Fali Desai resigned from the post. He resigned ahead of the expansion of the Pramod Sawant government’s cabinet.
“The notice of election of Deputy Speaker issued under Bulletin Part-II No. 53 dated July 8, 2022 under Rule 308 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business of the Goa Legislative Assembly, stands withdrawn by the Speaker. Therefore, the notice of nomination for the election of Deputy Speaker issued under the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business of Goa Legislative Assembly under 9(2) is also withdrawn.
All the members should take note of this. No nomination will be accepted for the said election, Secretary (Legislative) Namrata Ullman said in the notification.
