Chennai: Customs officials seize 483 grams Sleep and 50 cartons Cigarette but two men descended Chennai Airport from Dubai.
Sheikh Mohammed Ravuthar was stopped on Thursday and found carrying 50 cartons of cigarettes in his luggage.
During interrogation, he admitted to hiding the gold in his rectum and trousers, resulting in the seizure of 260 grams of gold worth Rs 11.47 lakh.
Javeth Ali, who arrived on another flight from Dubai on the same day, was also intercepted. On search, gold was found in the form of dust hidden between the layers of his trousers apart from gold chain and gold coins.
