Gold down by ₹201; Silver price breaks Rs 1475

According to HDFC Securities, gold prices in the national capital on Thursday declined by Rs 201 to Rs 55,994 per 10 grams amid a fall in the prices of the precious metal globally.

In the previous trade, the yellow metal had closed at Rs 56,195 per 10 grams.

Silver also fell by Rs 1,475 to Rs 69,286 per kg.

“Comex spot gold prices declined in early Asian hours on Thursday due to profit-taking after the recent rally,” said an analyst at HDFC Securities.

In the overseas market, gold was trading in the red at $1,848 an ounce, while silver was trading at $24.45 an ounce.
