Gold fell by ₹28; Silver jumped ₹ 279

According to HDFC Securities, gold prices on Thursday fell by Rs 28 to Rs 46,193 per 10 grams in the national capital amid a strengthening rupee.

The precious metal had closed at ₹ 46,221 per 10 grams in the previous trade.

Silver rose by ₹279 to ₹62,650 per kg from ₹62,371 per kg in the previous trade.

The Indian rupee opened higher by 6 paise at 73.02 against the US dollar in early trade on Thursday.

In the global market, gold was marginally higher at $ 1,814 an ounce and silver was flat at $ 24.17 an ounce.

HDFC Securities Senior Analyst (Commodities) Tapan Patel said, “Spot gold on COMEX (New York-based commodity exchange) was trading marginally higher at USD 1,814 an ounce on Thursday. Gold prices amid mixed global cues. Stayed in the upper business range.”
