Customs’ Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) officials on Friday seized gold worth Rs 69 lakh from two passengers who arrived at the Tiruchi International Airport.
Acting on the inputs, the officials searched and checked the baggage of the passengers, who landed at the airport from Malaysia and Dubai. During this, 676 grams of gold jewelery was seized from a male passenger. The officials also recovered 667 grams of gold from another passenger. It was estimated that the seized gold would be worth Rs 69 lakh in the market.
