Amritsar: Police has not yet been able to identify the person who committed sacrilege in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Golden Temple Evening of December 18.
Amritsar Police Commissioner Sukhchain Singh Gill on Monday said that the police have not found any identity card or any document from which the background of the person can be traced to get to the bottom of the matter.
Gill said that the police had circulated the picture of the said person which was captured in the CCTV camera so that anyone can identify him or his family members. He said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has started investigation, but it has not been able to get any clue about the person responsible for the sacrilege. He said the police had registered a case on December 19 at the East Division police station under sections 295A and 307 of the IPC. The police had also issued mobile numbers where any person could call.
