Google may bring a cheaper Chromecast next month

Chromecast runs on Google TV platform and supports 4K display resolution but the new version may get the same design as its premium model.

Google is likely to launch a cheaper Chromecast that could be sold for $30 (roughly Rs. 2,390) in October.

According to GSMArena, a set of photos obtained by TecnoBlog shows images of a newer, cheaper Chromecast that looks exactly like a Chromecast with Google TV.

As per the report, though it is similar to Chromecast with Google TV launched in 2020, it has a different model number – G454V.

This model has already gone through Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification and is rumored to be internally different.

It will run an Amlogic S805X2 chip with unreleased Chromecast AV1 support and 2GB of RAM. The report states that it is less powerful than the 4K model, but it is expected to support 1080p output resolution.

According to WinFuture, this cheaper Chromecast is expected to come with Voice Remote.

This new low-cost Chromecast could arrive during Google’s October 6th event, where it will launch the full-fledged Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, as well as the Pixel Watch and rumor has it that a few more Nest Home devices will also arrive. .
