Google Doodle is celebrating Parsi New Year with the name Nowruz. Celebrated across Persia, Nowruz marks the beginning of a 13-day long festival. Google Doodle is representing the Persian New Year with flowers and musical instruments. Nowruz will be celebrated in India tomorrow but the celebration has already started in many parts of the world. Nowruz or the Persian New Year marks the beginning of spring and thus new life and harvest.

Nowruz is generally associated with the Zoroastrian community, but it is celebrated throughout the Persian region, which is present-day Iran, and by all communities of different religions. The celebration of Nowruz is over 3,000 years old and continues to flourish. It is also celebrated in Afghanistan and Uzbekistan or mainly in Central Asia.

Nowruz celebration includes food, herbs and natural drinks with family and friends. Traditionally, people visit each other and wish them good health and luck.

The origins of the Nowruz festival can be traced back to the era of King Zoroaster, who later started a new religion called Zoroastrianism today. But, the new year and its customs are also being accepted and celebrated by Muslims and members of the Baha community.
