Government orders 50% hostel allotment to UG girl students in Nizam College

Collegiate Commissionerate education The authorities of Nizam College and Osmania University (OU) have been directed to allot 50 percent hostel capacity to UG girl students and 50 percent to PG girl students in the newly constructed hostel building.

The order signed by the Commissioner of Collegiates said, “After due consideration of the issue, the Commissioner of Collegiate Education directs to allot 50% of the hostel capacity to UG students and 50% to PG students with immediate effect.” ” Education, Naveen Mittal.

For the past several days, the graduate students of the college have been protesting against the college administration demanding allotment of accommodation for them in the newly constructed hostel building.

However, the college and OU authorities decided to allot hostel accommodation only for PG students of the college.

The state government had earlier permitted the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HDMA) to develop hostel facilities for 200 female students attending Nizam College and provided funds to the OU for that purpose.
