Governor Tamilisai said, I have objection to calling me a ‘BJP person’

Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has objected to Minister Jagadeesh Reddy’s comments that he visited the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Yadadri as a ‘BJP person’ and said it was unfortunate that such comments were coming from a minister. .

“I went to the temple with my husband as a devotee. Did I go with the BJP flag or went to the temple with the BJP leadership? I didn’t even care that the protocol was followed,” he said while talking to reporters in New Delhi after meeting Home Minister Amit Shah.

The Governor presented a report on issues of Telangana which apparently also include the drugs controversy which has been in the news in recent times.

Taking further objection, she said that she is feeling humiliated and neglected by some actions of the government. He said that ministers and government officials did not attend important functions of Raj Bhavan and they should understand that the invitation was not from any individual. He appreciated some of the ministers who participated in the Constitution Day celebrations at the Raj Bhavan.

The Governor felt that some baseless allegations were being made about his performance and was ready to disclose the appointments given in the last two years. “At most, I have met BJP leaders of the state only once or twice, as I have met leaders of other political parties.”

Pointing out that he was being deliberately ignored on protocol, he said that all his visits to the state were either by road or train, even if it was a long distance journey. Asked if the government was deliberately not providing her helicopter service, she said she was not aware but she was traveling by road or train only in the last six months.

He said that all official functions of the Raj Bhavan have pictures of the President and the Prime Minister in the background and avoidance of the Chief Minister’s picture was not done intentionally.
