Goyal: India’s exports likely to touch record $400 billion this fiscal: Goyal – Times of India

New Delhi: Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said on Tuesday India’s goods export Shipments are set to touch an all-time high of $400 billion during the current financial year due to a sharp increase in shipments. According to preliminary trade data, India’s goods export It stood at $262.46 billion in April-November 2021, up 50.71 percent from $174.15 billion in the same period last fiscal.
“Our exports have consistently crossed $30 billion in the last eight months. We are now at around $262 billion in exports as against $290 billion in the 12 months of last year. So, by the ninth month, we are looking at last year’s exports and we expect to export a record $400 billion.” Goyal said.
speaking in CII Partnership Summit 2021, he said of India Import are also growing and thus providing opportunities to other countries to expand trade and international trade with India.
Imports grew by 75.39 percent to $384.44 billion during April-November 2021.
He said, “India is showing rapid economic recovery on its part and various indicators are pointing to a boom in our work in our industry, manufacturing sector, agriculture, technology and setting a stage for a decade of huge growth. Huh.” ,
In the context of COVID-19Goyal said India tried its best to meet all international commitments and support countries through supply of vaccines, medical supplies and masks.
He assured that India will continue to support friendly countries.
“…During the COVID period, we have shifted our focus on our region to our neighborhood to ensure that all our friendly countries get adequate medical supplies,” the minister said.
Highlighting that India has so far delivered about 1.3 billion doses to its citizens, Goyal stressed that India stands ready to support every friendly country with vaccines, or medical supplies.
He also invited investments in India from other countries.
“India is shaping up to be a decade of development. I would like to invite the world to work with India in the spirit of partnership,” he said.
Goyal suggested to focus on six areas to create a sustainable, inclusive and resilient ecosystem to further promote partnership with other countries. The six areas include promoting trade agreements, investments and ease of doing business.
