Greater Noida West Metro Update: Check Budget, Stations And Complete Route Here

Metro is the metro connecting the nook and corner of NCR and it is being operated by different circles. Delhi got DMRC, Gurgaon got Rapid Metro and Noida got NMRC. The latter is set to get its extension soon, connecting Greater Noida with the extended Aqua Line. Noida-Greater Noida Metro has got approval from PIB and the central government will invest 20 per cent in the project. The extension of the new Aqua Line Metro will connect the Greater Noida West area to Gautam Budh Nagar and will subsequently be connected to the DMRC network. Work on this project will start anytime soon, and here are all the details about it.

Greater Noida West Metro: Route and Stations

The extension corridor of Aqua Line Metro will connect Knowledge Park V in Noida Sector 51 and Greater Noida (West). Nine stations of more than 14.95 km are proposed in the route. The first phase will have a 9.15 km long elevated track, where five elevated stations including Sector 122, Sector 123, Sector 4, Sector 12 Ecotech and Sector-2 are to be built. In the second phase, the remaining four metro stations will be constructed – Noida Sector 3, Greater Noida Sector 10, Greater Noida Sector 12 and Greater Noida Knowledge Park.

Greater Noida West Metro: India’s Highest Metro Station

According to officials, a 4-storey metro station will be built for this route in Gaur City and Gautam Buddha Nagar will be the first city in the country to have a 4-storey station. Under the Aqua Line Metro Project, Metro will run from Sector-51 to Greater Noida Extension (Greater Noida West).

A total of Rs 2,200 crore is expected to be spent on the entire project by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), the Noida and Greater Noida authorities, the central government and the Uttar Pradesh government. Earlier the budget was expected to be around Rs 2457 crore, but PIB has now cut the budget by around Rs 250 crore. Rs 500 crore has been allocated and will be spent on civil works.

Greater Noida West Metro: Completion

The project is expected to be commissioned around March 2023 after getting final approval from the Center and issuing tenders to construction companies. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
