Greaves Electric Mobility owns the Ampere Electric brand of electric two-wheelers

Greaves Electric Mobility, the electric mobility arm of Greaves Cotton Limited, has announced a strategic partnership with Mesha Energy Solutions Pvt Ltd, an energy storage technology company based in Bengaluru, India. Mesha Energy Solutions is a 100 percent wholly owned subsidiary of Mesha Inc., based in the United States. With this association, Greaves Electric Mobility has strengthened its role in the EV battery segment and is well positioned to offer a superior driving experience to its EV customers. The company says that along with the new battery technology, fast charging allows for longer lasting for business use cases.

The EV production facility at Ranipet is the company’s largest, spread over 35 acres, and will have an annual capacity of 120,000 units by the end of FY22.

Commenting on the announcement, Ram Rajappa, Chief Technology Officer, Greaves Electric Mobility, said, “Batteries are an integral part of EVs and this association with the company is part of our strategy to build an efficient and robust EV ecosystem. Mesha Energy Solutions has patented solutions to deliver faster charging and longer cycle life for almost any chemical. According to a joint statement, Mesha’s functionality enables up to two times faster charging, helping the customer ride with less intrusion and more comfort. Mesha also offers integrated charge balancer, ensuring that the battery is charged and operated under optimum conditions.

Commenting on this partnership, Mesha, Inc.
