For the first time in the Indian Premier League, two brothers will be on opposite teams as captains as Krunal Pandya will take charge of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the rest of the season. Hardik Pandya will lead Gujarat Titans (GT) against LSG and will walk out for the toss on Sunday afternoon with brother Kunal to mark a memorable moment for the family. The absence of KL Rahul will surely be felt at the top. The LSG skipper was ruled out of IPL 2023 as well as the final of the World Test Championship due to a shoulder problem. In his absence, LSG will have to step up their game.

Karun Nair has joined the team in Ahmedabad in place of Rahul. He is unlikely to get a game as LSG will look to balance the playing 11 with the inclusion of a quality playing 11. Manan Vohra opened the innings in the last game for LSG but failed to contribute. Andy Flower and Kunal would like to see them back on top. Not to forget, we are approaching the business end of the tournament and the race for the playoffs has gathered pace.

The GT on the other hand is comfortably placed at the top. But they cannot take the rest of the matches lightly as the top two players are still not sure. If they win tonight, they will surely seal their spot for the playoffs. Hardik Pandya will return to form in their last match to keep them in good stead. Mohammed Shami has been brilliant with the ball. Rashid Khan is the X-factor and Shubman Gill has been among the runs. Overall GT has been the best team of the tournament so far this season.
