Guessing Woman’s Height Using Trigonometry, Internet Says ‘It’s Pure Gold’

Many of us often complain that the lessons we learned in school, especially advanced math, are not useful in our daily lives. However, now a Twitter user has proved it wrong by using trigonometry to calculate the height of women. It all started when a Twitter user Pallavi Pandey uploaded a picture of herself on the micro-blogging website, asking users to guess her height. Within hours this prompted a series of responses from people, including the man who used trigonometry to solve the problem.

Ms Pandey shared a picture on her handle on Monday. The picture showed her standing in front of a flight of stairs dressed in an all-black outfit. Along with the image, Ms Pandey wrote, “Guess my height!”

Mr Pandey’s tweet immediately took the internet by storm. In the comments section, while several users played the guessing game, one user, who goes by Mr Nobody, stepped up and used trigonometry to estimate the woman’s height. “5′ looks like 4.5″. But now I’m curious,” wrote the user. He also shared an image to show his calculations.

Ms. Pandey was completely taken aback by the user’s effort. He also replied to her tweet and shared that she is taller than her height but also praised her for her effort. “Hats off to you man for the effort, but I’m too tall, but WOW!!!” she wrote. “Dude just finished another day of not using trigonometry after class 10 in real life,” she joked.

Meanwhile, many online applauded the man for his efforts in reminding the world that the lessons we learn in school are used in real life. One user wrote, “A befitting reply to all those who say trigonometry is not useful. Will revise the values ​​again.”
